Ethiopia Human Rights Project (EHRP) is pleased to announce the launch of http://www.ehrp.org/, a website to bolster the advocacy work of international and domestic actors seeking to advance human rights in Ethiopia.
Our goal is to provide our guests with a way to learn about what EHRP’s human rights agenda and how to get involved. The site is focused on the exchange of probative research and critical information with an ultimate goal of heightening awareness of human rights conditions in Ethiopia.
We will be adding up-to-date EHRP campaigns, new research on a regular basis, and feature news articles on a weekly basis that will present information on current pertinent and topical issues related to the human rights situation in Ethiopia. International and regional human rights recommendations and documents will be posted as they become available.
Our lead campaign highlights EHRP’s advocacy efforts in support of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process. We urge UN members to lobby the Ethiopian government for the implementation of accepted recommendations and to reconsider its position on the rejected recommendations that would mean increased access to fundamental freedoms for Ethiopian citizens.
We hope you find the new website easy to use and informative. We will strive to keep it accessible for reading, searching, comparing and sharing advocacy efforts. Please send us your feedback: firstname.lastname@example.org
